What Is A Pillar Article?

A column article is a blog post or article on your website that explores or explains one of your core topics in more depth.

Like spokes on a wheel, column pages are supported by other information available to you, such as links, links to other columns, and other content. For example, you can write a blog post on a particular topic or a series of posts on the same topic. You can then create a column page for each column page in your Content / Theme Cluster and link to it. If we have a blog about certain topics, we can link it to the column page and create a streamlined reading experience.

If you do not have a column article for your blog, you can create two or more column posts. If you create content in the future, link back to the column articles and link the articles at the bottom level to your column articles.

You create an internal link to your column page and then write a supportive blog post for each cluster. Then you want to link the keyword anchor text that links to the blog articles grouped around it. Based on the column contents you can link back to the column articles you mentioned.
As the name suggests, a column article is an article that supports your blog throughout the trip and increases the credibility of the blog. A column article will act as the backbone of your blogs and will be one of the most visited articles on the blogs. As the names suggest, this is the article that will support your blog on your journey and increase your credibility. It is a column of articles that, as the name suggests, are the articles that will help you blog while traveling and reinforce your disbelief at the implausibility of the articles.

If you have already written about a topic you want to refer to in your article in the section, it is perfectly fine to link to your own content.

The beauty and genius of column content is that when a subsequent content, often referred to as “topic cluster content,” is written, it should link back to the original column page. Linking to related posts in column articles helps search engine crawlers understand how your content is bundled. Without supporting topics, search engines will not recognize your authority in these topics and your column will not work as well.

Pillar articles are an important part of your SEO strategy because Google’s search algorithm has a particular preference for bundled content. Column pages tend to link to related blog posts to create a cluster of topics that help readers explore sub-topics more deeply. QuickSprout lists the Guides version of a column page as the type of content that attracts the most backlinks, as does Search Engine Journal. Back to the definition of the column page, note that it refers back to the column page.

This creates a complex web that Google uses to determine how relevant your content is to searches by searchers. When a column page contains a link to a blog post on your site, it will start to rank higher than other column pages, such as those that focus on blogs. Based on column content, you can write additional blog posts (so-called sub-topic posts) that cover related topics to generate more links to your column.
